1. Data Controller
Dr Kate Ryan Psychology is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact: bookings@drkateryan.co.uk.
2. What Data I Collect
When you use the contact form, I collect:
- Your name, email address, and phone number (if provided)
- Your message and the nature of your enquiry
This website uses only essential cookies required for basic functionality. I do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies.
3. How I Use Your Data
Your personal data is used solely to:
- Respond to your enquiry
- Arrange an initial consultation
- Provide therapeutic services if you become a client
The lawful basis for processing your data is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR) and, where you become a client, the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
4. Data Storage and Security
Form submissions are processed by Netlify (based in the US) under Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfer. I store client records securely in an encrypted, GDPR-compliant practice management system. I retain enquiry data for up to 12 months if you do not become a client. Clinical records are retained for 7 years in line with BPS and HCPC guidelines.
5. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations)
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
6. Third Parties
I do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be shared only where required by law or with your explicit consent (for example, with your GP if clinically appropriate and agreed).
